embedded world Conference 2011

Prof. Dr. Matthias Sturm - Chair embedded world Conference 2011
Nuernberg, Germany, March 1-3, 2011
...it's a smarter world!
DESIGN&ELEKTRONIK presents the embedded world Conference again in 2011, the leading European conference for the embedded community that covers all fields of embedded system development. Besides hardware, software and tools, the conference will take up current developments and tackle the latest issues of embedded system design.
The embedded world Conference orients on modern, leading-edge ideas and solutions to global challenges. For which engineers and especially we, the developers of embedded systems, bear special responsibility. We're called upon, with our systems, to enable greater productivity, while reducing the use of resources, energy and ecological impact. Our sector possesses the necessary innovative ability – but we can only implement it together.
That's why we meet, for an exchange, to become more qualified and adept, and help one another in tackling and mastering the challenges.
The embedded world Exhibition&Conference is the world's biggest exhibition of its kind and the meeting-place of the international embedded community. Embedded technologies are in action everywhere – whether in the car, data and telecommunication systems, industrial and consumer electronics, military systems or aerospace.

Review embedded world Conference 2010:
High-end knowledge transfer:
Not only the exhibition excelled with good growth: the embedded world Conference and electronic displays Conference also finished with 7 per cent more participants this year. “Every year the embedded world Conference is the top get-together for the international developer scene to enjoy high-level discussions, exchange views and develop new ideas,” says Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Sturm, Chairman of the Exhibition Committee and Conference Director.
The conference focused on current topics such as health care, energy management or Android. A special highlight was the keynote on the first day of the exhibition by Dr. Reinhold Achatz, Director Corporate Research and Technologies at Siemens. Achatz is director of the technology departments of Siemens Corporate Research and Technologies. He is also a member of the Steering Committee Innovation and the Technology Board at Siemens.
Outstanding experts from the embedded community gave lectures that provided the answers to the most urgent questions and made embedded system developers fit for tomorrow’s challenges.
In addition to the experts on real-time operating systems (Dr. David Kalinsky), embedded Linux (Prof. Nicholas McGuire), embedded security (Prof. Christof Paar) and model-based development (Dr. Bruce Powel Douglass), Dr. Kelvin Nilsen, Olaf Winne and other outstanding specialists spoke on current issues from the fields of safety-critical Java and safety-critical systems in the IEC61508 context.
